super-lovely-collection asked: I just wanted to say you have such an awesome art style (I really adore your Ryou+Bakura/Yugioh drawings)! I am not sure if you been asked, but do you have art or artist that inspire you?
thank you! 💖💖 and yes yes yes i do- i probably have abt 10 artbooks from different artists that i treasure and look to when im feeling stuck with my own work. i tried to keep it brief but i.. am so wordy lmfao and ended up almost writing an essay orz so tl;dr-ing my own answer-
Kazuki Takahashi (Yugioh DM mangaka)- UGH SUPER OBVIOUS ygo like Started my art career before i can remember (i had a big crush on atem and drew him all the time ajsfkhafs) and is probably most apparent in the way i draw eyes, taste in fashion/general aesthetics, and my love of weird hairstyles. i also rly love the bright, almost neon at times coloring he did for early ygo works
Yusuke Murata (Eyeshield 21 mangaka)- His art is just so.. effortlessly pretty. I dream to be able to make something as dynamic, eye catching, yet on so consistently on model/style as he does. I lovveee the way he colors as well- and i suspect my affinity for images including ridiculous amounts of guns/weapons comes from him lmfao. i would die for my e21 artbook and it helps TONS for inspiring composition and detail work (that doesnt show nearly enough in the things i post HAHA)
Araki Hirohiko (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure mangaka)- i really… REALLY LOVE tacky and ridiculous fashion (think early 2000′s LOL) but Araki takes it to an extreme that i cannot get enough of. Very very good for character design, and Im enamored with his way of drawing his characters as if theyre models like constantly- if you hadn’t noticed how much I’m obsessed w/ beauty haha. his eyes are cute too!
Kaneoya Sachiko- THE ONE ARTBOOK I DONT HAVE yet.. urgh. anyway i 💖 their main subject material (monstrous women, weak men, pretty sparkly suggestive shit) and their coloring/style in general. not so much inspiring for my own works but def an artist im a big fan of!
Sho Futamata (Nanbaka)- pretty much everything ive already listed above. crazy fashion, hair, colors, and oh so shiny and sparkly. i also think its super cool that she looks like her art irl haha!
Mari Shimazaki (Bayonetta concept artist)- fashion fashion fashion
Yogi Shinkawa (Metal Gear Solid series artist)- so flowy.. just so nice to look at. i love the saturated colors and painterly style he uses- particularly good for when I just need to get experiment or burn out my art block
and the devil may cry games that unfortunately were conceptualized by too many people to properly credit a singular artist orz hideki kamiya i owe you my life
really quickly is artists I don’t look at too much but def pop into my head when i think “inspiration”: Alphonse Mucha, Alexander Cabanel, Gustav Klimt, Robert Ferri.. probably more that im missing but ! this post is long enough as it is haha. thank you so much for your question!
